Conundrum

People say "Ey, Roach, since your life is so humdrum
why do you concoct these cacophony conundrums?
Won’t people think you're lonely and you just want some?
You got so many dreams, and no money to fund ‘em?"

So where’s the fun then, since I spent the lot in London?
I lived on snake bites and smoked pot in abundance
And I often wondered if a pot of soup and a bun
was enough to kill my hunger, ‘cause I was so damn hungry
Living in a basement, I was placed in a face off
and faced my fears face first with a face plant
And now that my faith’s gone in the human race
Im'a pack my suitcase an’ get the hell outta this place
Gone and no longer, stay strong for the sake of my sanity
I couldn't say how long I’d hang on to the fantasy
But dang, it had to be a bloody catastrophe
A blasphemy if this comes back to hassle me

And understandably my family may even get mad at me
‘cause I'm a walking calamity at war with insanity
Spitting profanity like it’s the new English
It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't so offensive
See, they say talk is cheap, but nowadays it’s expensive
I'm on minimum wage and my material’s extensive
Tho crossing the boundaries is boundless and endless
Yet pound for pound, we're just bound by our senses
So I can understand how we became dependant
as we descend into this false contentment
With an unwholesome resentment towards our descendants
who failed to defend us from our own independence
We got the option of hope, but we openly resent it
We claim we want to live but we're like "Where’s the incentive?"
Trapped behind the bars of white picket fences
facing life like it’s a maximum sentence

Because were like rats in a cage, caught in a frantic rage
that fashioned the craze to get trashed and blazed
Till we can’t see the answers through the massive haze
and it hits us in the face like an acid wave
We try to run away as this passage caves
And get painted in a corner by our passive ways
And no, I'm not trying’a pass the blame
‘cause I recognize that we all are the same

People say "Ey, Roach, since your life is so humdrum
why do you concoct these cacophony conundrums?
Because I'm done with the lies, and I'm done with disguises
and all I wanna do is open up some of your eyelids
