Confetti In the Wind

He stands and watches the white flakes spin
And then land in the soil where her body will lay
Floating from the church along with the hymns
Covering the damp soil, a stark reminder of the day
that they should have shared confetti in the wind

Her life before her had been filled with family sin
From her past and of her future the pain did come
Drowning her dreams of letting any true love near
to her heart so sweet, where she could feel it tear
For her there would be no confetti in the wind

The distant crags show their colour cold
So dark and grey so tall and bold
Daring him to bare his soul
And to pray for all the sin and his
longing for the lost confetti in the wind
