Cathartic Liberalism

I’ve waited for so long
for that day when he leaves me
And in an blink of an eye
He left quickly, ominously and pleasantly

For once in my life
that heavy grey cloud
which hung over my life
Which consumed my shoulders
Vanished

CHORUS:
My senses are alive to life
My soul is receptive to love
My body is freed to live

It’s the most liberating feeling in the world
To be rid of an iron cast ball
To be able to breathe again, feel again
Taste again, see again, hear again
and touch again

I’ve wasted years of my life
Waiting patiently for his empty vessel to return
Ironically in the wait
I grew in wisdom
While he receded into an ignorant pit of selfishness
Becoming an empty shell of stupidity

CHORUS

BRIDGE:
I pity him and thank him humbly
Because he led me on a journey
of cathartic self-discovery
Ending a decade later in cathartic liberalism
I thank him deeply for opening my eyes

CHORUS
