Cape Town

Keeping it up high
It’s from Cape Town, guy
The land of the free
where we got no need
for an accelerated pace
Children of the Mountain
share the same face
We the people stand together
with our heads light as feathers
Shades of colour, shades of grey
in this place I choose to stay
From the townships
to the leafy greens
Man, this place jams
we all know the scene

CHORUS:
The City of Love
blessed from above
The cultural melting pot
overflowing from culture got
by colonists and immigrants
from tourists and slaves indignant

We're all here now
may as well relax your brow
‘Cause the land is ours
and those clouds bearing showers
The Cape of Storms, brother man
Seems you can't understand
that our coasts are battered
but like our hearts they'll never shatter
or break or crumble
Try and help those that stumble
‘cause we're all we’ve got
to prevent the morality rot

And dedicate our future
to our celebrated past
that decimated the racially uneducated
penetrated and renovated the segregated
never to be replicated
but commemorated
Today we never hesitate to vegetate
instead we should begin
mental elevation through meditation

CHORUS

‘Cause this is the real CPT
where the people feel free
to do as they choose
with blunts and brews
Rolling in crews and gangs
each with their own slangs
different from one another
but we come from the same Mother
This City our home
these streets we choose to roam
That rock in the distance
like us, an outcrop of resistance
Weathering this Cape of Storms
while rejoicing in all forms
together we stand
in this, the motherland
