Bringing a pen to a sword fight

Got the most lethal form of terrorism
They’ll never see it coming.
Hand written, pen driven
So for the time we’ve been given
Forget terror, I’m living
And if I can’t leave behind a part of me
I’ll leave behind the art of me
I’ll strip it from my mind like a lyrical lobotomy

‘Cause I'm a professional with a pencil
Like a graff kid an’ a stencil
Coincidentally sentimental for gentle wordplay fundamentals
So while you wrestle your depression, I’ll be resting in my expression
Like leaves on the trees, with every breath comes a lesson
So get off ya knees, man please, this isn’t the oppression
An’ start second-guessing the matters that are pressing

Like how the recent recession’s impression on the general public's direction
is a reflection of the connection to the system in question
So if I look at myself from a different view or perspective
I’ll see I’m just a spec in this wound that is septic
Like a kid kept back for being dyslexic
I’m kept outta the loop for being a sceptic
‘Cause who’d expect the leaders we elected
of betraying the people they swore they protected?
See, I’m sick of pleading
Im'a take matters into my own hands an’ feed ‘em
their own propaganda they trying’a make me believe in
They trying’a make me believe I got no reason
No other reason than to please ‘em
An’ that’s not freedom
That’s dehumanization…

‘Cause it’s too much to handle, this global scandal
of vandals that plan to burn us out like a candle
What can a normal man do?!
But I see through your “EU”.
Your world without borders
You thought your plan was flawless
Dishonest an’ upon us
The new world order
An‘ end days are accelerating
so this dawning’s a warning that our humanity’s failing
Leaders are insane and civilian's complaining
Don’t take it from me, the evidence is amazing

‘Cause in local news, they’ll distort your views
by only screening the news they choose
Then bombard you with emotional capers
That will desensitize you to violence and rapists
Leave you physically senseless, emotionally defenceless
It’s easy to scar flesh but it’s the soul that makes us
‘Cause frankly it’s gendered, subsequently horrendous
Biased advice that’ll leave you content-less

But don’t take it from me ‘cause I’m behind a mic
The media industry is there to blind our sight
To show us the dreams of an exciting life
But behind the scenes, the excitement’s rife
So we just go with the flow, because society's "right"
We don't question what we know, we're too tired to fight
And we don't wanna be in the cross hairs of long sites
that took out Kennedy for making enemies with the wrong guy

An’ I can’t stop thinking ‘bout the madness in that Lincoln
Jackie Onassis an’ how her gut must’ve been sinking
But then thinking leads to seeking to uncover the truth
Like was the guy who shot Lincoln really John Wilks Booth?
An’ if they’re just the pawns, who’s really making the moves?
‘Cause all this paranoia‘s enough to make me a recluse
