Zongezile Matshoba is part of the Education and Public Programmes (EPP) at Amazwi South African Museum of Literature (formerly the National English Literary Museum). The museum collects and preserves South African literature as part of the country’s literary heritage. Through the EPP team the museum ensures that the literary collection is taken to the people, or the people come to the museum to engage with its literary collection and spaces. This is done through education, exhibitions and public programmes such as book launches and book festivals.
You will find Zongezile Matshoba in your township or village or school or town or hall or open ground, and wherever there is a literature-related event for the young and old. His writings narrate the humour and hardships of township and rural life, and interrogates whether it is yet uhuru in people’s livelihoods.
