Shana Fife

My name is Shana Fife. I am a blogger, journalist and written content editor from Mitchells Plain, Cape Town. I also co-ordinate content for YOH Radio, Mitchells Plain's first community radio station. As a mom of three, I don't always have time for my many hobbies, although I adore creative writing, as well as reading crime novels while sipping chai tea.

I studied my BA in film and music performance at AFDA Film School, and then did a course in journalism at City Varsity shortly thereafter.

I am very passionate about the empowerment of women of colour, and strive every day to use my platform to address the uncomfortable issues we face daily on the Cape Flats, and even globally.

I like to think that my work, especially my blog, gives a voice to many women who have been told that silence is admirable. I want to fight that mindset, even if it is one article at a time.
