Mandla Mbothwe

A theatre practitioner, Mandla Mbothwe has been involved with community theatre as a writer, director, actor and teacher for many years. He was a lecturer in the Drama Department at UCT and co-managed the Magnet Theatre outreach programmes with Jennie Reznek until 2010. He was appointed as the artistic director of the Steve Biko Foundation in King William’s Town in 2011 and was the creative manager at Artscape Theatre Centre from 2014 to 2016. He is currently a lecturer at UCT Drama School and artistic director at Magnet Theatre and drives the Culture Gangs project. For Magnet Theatre Mandla directed Isivuno sama phupha, Ingcwaba lendoda lis cankwe ndlela and Inxeba Lomphilisi.
