Lizette Lancaster

Lizette Lancaster manages the South African Crime and Justice Information and Analysis Hub (crimehub.org) of the Institute for Security Studies’s (ISS’s) Justice and Violence Prevention Programme. Her focus is collecting, analysing and disseminating data and information to promote evidence-based crime and violence reduction policies and strategies. She manages the ISS's Protest and Public Violence Monitor and has been tracking incidents of peaceful and violent protests in South Africa since 2013. She has written extensively on protest, public violence and policing. Lizette has 30 years’ experience in criminal justice matters and qualitative and quantitative research. She has worked with criminal justice departments and donor agencies. She holds a BCom (Law), an LLB and an MA in Development Studies.
