Hennie van Greunen

Hennie van Greunen is the head of Curro Create at Curro Holdings, South Africa’s largest JSE-listed independent education provider. Curro Create is the national creative arts initiative of Curro Holdings.

He holds a bachelor of arts degree in English and an honours degree in psychology. He started his career as an educator, but for the past 25 years, he and his creative partner, Pedro Kruger, have been creative entrepreneurs, making experiences as well as life-changing theatre work that has been seen around South Africa, as well as in the Netherlands, the US and the UK. Between the two of them, they write, translate, perform, produce and direct for theatre, radio, TV and multinational corporations. Their company, Wordsmith’s Theatre Factory, is the oldest and most successful Afrikaans theatre company in the country, having been responsible for some of the most prominent award-winning work on the festival circuit.
