Christy Weyer is a doctoral student and undergraduate tutor at Stellenbosch University.
Her thesis-in-progress is tentatively titled: "South African Women Poets Writing the Body: Joan Metelerkamp and Antjie Krog". Her research interests centre on poetry of the body, confessional poetry, and the ethical problems and opportunities afforded by these often entwined poetic modes. She has presented papers at local and international conferences and has published reviews of recent poetry collections. Her first full-length article, on the erotic in Antjie Krog's poetry, will appear in a forthcoming collection of essays about Krog's work.
