Ahneesh Valodia is the artistic director of Taare – an Indian dance troupe based in Cape Town. The troupe uses Bollywood song and dance as a medium to promote the Indian performing arts through live performances, classes and collaborative projects. 

 

Ahneesh is trained in Kathak, a north Indian classical dance style, and self-taught in Bollywood dance with exposure to many dance styles of other genres along his journey. His comprehensive knowledge of Indian dance and theatre has enabled him to act as producer, director and principal resident choreographer of 9 Taare dance productions over the past 11 years.

 

Ahneesh uses Taare to provide a platform of opportunities for individuals to maintain a close link to their Indian culture and heritage as well as aims to bring diverse people together through various dance ventures.
