"All I want" by Marius Ochse

All I want

I don’t care about currency fluctuations
I don’t care about labour relations
I don’t care about new innovations
I don’t care about the fate of nations

All I want is a white bed in a blue room
watching Venus and the full moon
dance a slow tango on your skin

I don’t care about the matric pass rate
I don’t care about politicians who are late
I don’t care about officials who make you wait
I don’t care who appoints his very best mate

All I want is to hurry home and stare
at the sun bleeding in your hair
and dream of new ways to please you

I don’t care about wealth creation
I don’t care about privatisation
I don’t care about rising inflation
I don’t care about the energy situation

All I want is to linger for a while
in the cathedral of your smile
far from the cruel fire of life

I don’t care about politicians who steal
I don’t care about another shady deal
I don’t care who wangles a free meal
I don’t care how this makes you feel

There is only you
and the slow sigh of your heart
As my tongue, lazy with wine
journeys down your spine

There is only you
your breath brushing my ear
as you gently draw me near
to whisper my name

There is only you
And nothing else matters
