For those less politically minded, ventriloquist Conrad Koch brings with him international showgirl diva and wannabe celeb gossip columnist, Hilary the ostrich, and an adorable piece of his own subconscious mind, Ronnie the monster. The show is directed by the multiple award winning Heinrich Reisenhofer who has helped bring a depth and dimension not usually seen with ventriloquism. Expect laugh-a-minute comedy madness in a hilarious show.
Chester is best known for asking the tough questions to the likes of the Cape Town mayor, Patricia de Lille and CNN’s Richard Quest. From being the star media commentator at the ANC’s Mangaung conference, to his political interviews on etv’s Late Nite News with Loyiso Gola, Chester is developing a reputation as the guy who refuses to be anyone’s puppet. Ironically Chester belongs to SA’s top ventriloquist, Conrad Koch, and is being forced to do this theatre show against his will. In fact Conrad has had to sue him to get him to perform. Unique in being a ventriloquist with an MA in social anthropology, Conrad is hoping for an evening of insightful political madness and hilarious puppet characters. Chester Missing has other plans. Being the puppet of a white man is very counter-revolutionary. He’s likely to bring up bucket toilets.
