Het jy ’n storie oor jou ontmoeting met Nelson Mandela?
Voormalige ANC-LP en ambassadeur in Ierland, Melanie Verwoerd, in samewerking met Tafelberg Uitgewers, is op soek na persoonlike stories van mense wat Nelson Mandela een of ander tyd ontmoet het. Staaltjies wat Madiba se grootsheid illustreer deur sy medemenslikheid, nederigheid, liefde vir mense en ook sy sin vir humor is welkom. Die stories kan so lank of kort wees soos jy dit wil maak, solank dit net ’n persoonlike verhaal is en ook insluit wat dit vir jou beteken het of hoe dit Madiba se wonderlike persoonlikheidseienskappe illustreer.
’n Keur van die bydraes gaan gepubliseer word in ’n spesiale huldigingsbundel wat beide in Suid-Afrika en oorsee gaan verskyn. Dit sal ook bydraes insluit van ’n verskeidenheid bekende sport-, film- en politieke figure. ’n Gedeelte van die opbrengs gaan aan die Nelson Mandela Kinderhospitaal geskenk word.

Do you have a story about Nelson Mandela?
Former ANC MP and ambassador to Ireland, Melanie Verwoerd, in conjunction with Tafelberg Publishers, is compiling a collection of anecdotes from people who have met Nelson Mandela at some stage in their lives for a special tribute book to honour the father of our nation. They are looking for stories that illustrate Madiba’s greatness through his individual acts of kindness, humility and love for people, and also his sense of humour. Your story may be as short or as long as you wish, provided it is of a personal nature and includes why you think it illustrates Madiba’s greatness.
Some of the contributions will be selected for a book to be published in both South Africa and the rest of the world. It will include contributions by high-profile politicians, celebrities, political activists and friends. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital.
