The pain of life has crept its way into my dreams
Dreams I can't seem to remember
Or don't want to
Yet it has me shedding tears in slumber
My heart's grown weary
To the point that it's become too weak
To function
These pieces can take only so much
As even they too have been shattered
I clear my throat as I write
For my eyes are left afloat
These tears that have come to consume my sleep
Have now invaded my reality
Strange how I don't remember these dreams
When reality is oh so vivid
