"The test" by John McHattie

Verse 1:
Just fourteen months ago; I was down and out
No money in my pocket; my belief became a doubt
Everything I worked for; it vanished in a flash
Thinking why me Lord; as I stared into the ash
So I took my situation; & humbled on my knees
Had faith in the creator; who made the birds & bees

Coda:
Its fourteen months later; He answered my request
The lesson that I learnt my friend; was how to pass the test

Verse 2:
If anybody out there ; is feeling down and out
No money in your pocket; and you begin to doubt
When everything you’ve worked for; becomes the thing you loose
Stop thinking why me Lord; the time has come to choose
Take your situation; get humble on your knees
Have faith in the creator; who made the birds & bees

Coda:
Be patient till He answers; whatever your request
Then pass it on to others; that they may pass the test

Verse 3:
Just fourteen months ago; I was down and out
No money in my pocket; my belief became a doubt
If everything we've worked for; becomes the thing we loose
Stop thinking why me Lord; the time has come to choose
Just take your situation; get humble on your knees
Have faith in the creator; who made the birds and bees

Coda:
Be patient He will answer; whatever your request
Then pass it on to others; that they may pass the test
