The summertime smells sweeter in the valley
Dewdrops shine fresh and glitter in the sunrise
Gentle breezes sway the sun-kissed flowers
Sweet aromas fill the powdered blue sky
As little children scamper in the fields nearby
Waters flow in harmonious streams, and
Sunlight dances with bright sparkling beams
Tadpoles pop up and down in delight
Fishes slither in motions seen by sight
And chirping birds raise their voices high
Grasshoppers jump in fields of splendor
And field mice sneak hither and fro
Soon night falls to still the warmth of day
The night owl stares and waits from upper branch
When silence falls and the moon keeps watch
Early morning laundry swaying in the sun to dry
Baked apple-pie and teacups stand prepared
Cold lemonade, cupcakes and brown bread
Evening strolls, greeting passersby
But soon the time will come for summer to pass on by
