The nightmare's over now
The ship is going down
My every smile has turned into a frown
Now as I walk out of this dream
That once held the promise of everything
A young man’s hope, a young man’s dreams
Has now become a lifetime of fear it seems
So let it run aground on just another dream
Because I won’t board that ship again
And through the fog that ship still waits inside the harbour
But until it sails out of my dreams I will never sleep again
The consequence of time binds everything
My every nightmare a reality
Now as I walk out of this dream
I’m still a slave to all my fears
I’m not asleep
I’m not awake
I’ll never go back again
So let it run aground on just another dream
Because I won’t board that ship again
And through the fog that ship still waits inside the harbour
But until it sails out of my dreams I will never sleep again
The fires out in hell
The reaper tolls his bell
The end of the dream has left me unwell
Soon I'll see the sunshine in my harbour
And on that day I will watch it sail away
