Have you ever feared the night sky
Because it reminds you of goodbyes
Have you ever heard the wind cry
And wondered how many tears she's wiped
When life is easier said than done
Do you ever wonder if the stars have tried to run
Do you look at me and see smiles
But wonder what really lies inside
Do my eyes seem worn and weary
Do they tell a story of the weight I carry
Does my walk have an ending
Or can you see the steps and how they're pretending
How they're pretending in the night time, where it's dream time
For those who dare sleep
I lay waiting for walls to peel
Revealing scenes and streams
Of hopes left unseen
In heaps of black roses
Over cold grey gardens
I lay and listen to the wind sing
As she cries and pulls strings
Night seems deep and far too real
I hold hope in the stars at night
’Cause they're the only things that remain the same
No matter where you are
No matter how you feel
No matter who left or who stayed
They remain the same
And yet here we are it's a new day
So perhaps the struggles are not here to stay
They'll go away
Struggles will go away
