Thank God for my life
Looking to my future
Will I be thinking about a wife
Two kids, five cars and a fresh pair of Nikes
I swear the devil's trying to get me
I can feel him, I feel his energy
Celebrate with my family, I love them man, honestly
Never got it at college, I swear I got that knowledge
Sometimes it makes no sense, but it got me driving that new Benz
Now I'm driving around my city
Seeing people wishing they were indoors
Tears in their eyes, hearts like a home with no windows
So the wind blows them out killing their dreams without a doubt
Now should I be proud about the south?
People sell their souls for a taste of wealth
How could they do that to themselves?
Can never do that to myself
Unless you curious like a cat, so I'm like "Where's my president at?"
Man all these folks are corrupt
Can't show the poor no love, just show them no luck
And I ain't afraid to say it, graffiti artist rather spray it
And it won't work, like 30% of our people with no work
Homies got no role models, so they drink out that whole bottle
And the ladies find no work, get satisfied to get that short skirt
Now that hurts, rap from the heart this my outburst
Feels like our world's cursed and it gets worse
They talk about it, but we're fighting with no fist
So I'm 'a head back to my dream, I'll try to make some changes
And if that don’t work I'll get up, write a new song to the opposite of so wrong
And get a foreign car, I don’t need the moon to be a star
'Cause my dreams aren't that far, all I need is a tight beat with a bass line
To make them stand up, to make them sit down
And make them absorb it like dirt in a graveyard
Life ain't that easy, sometimes it can be plain hard
So I put on my dark shades, because my dark days are over
Mind so sober for now till the games are over
And I'll hop into my Rover, you know the black one with 'em 22’s
Drive through my city looking for someone with no shoes
And I'll bless them, I'll bless them, God blessed me to bless them
Confession of a sinner with a heart to just do better
Words coming from me and I'm reaching out to you
Let us stick together and I promise we’ll make it through
