"Miles to go" by Rose Da Costa

City roads are lovely, bright and deep
And I have many promises I need to keep
And far to go before I sleep
And far to go before I sleep

I’m travelling to put my head in a lap, cook and share a blanket
When times are dark friends are few
But as I stare some passing faces begin to resemble you
My City roads are dark, dangerous and deep
But I have many promises I need to keep
And far to go before I sleep
And far to go before I sleep

I’m travelling to be able to sit next to someone and rest my bones
At times I dream, and at times I stare
My Music, the Voices and my planslaid bare
Exhale my day away, with little care …

Your cities roads are well worn, slick and deep
We have many promises to keep
And far to go before we sleep
And far to go before we sleep

I’m travelling to hold warm hands
And rub the side of my hand with their thumb
Extracted to be distracted, after working day
Separated by a diminished flow

City roads are lovely, bright and deep
And I have so many promises I need to keep
And far to go before I sleep
And far to go before I sleep
