"Lost" by Marvin Smith

The blood that my heart pumps, is leaking
The words that floods my mind
Is words my tongue is not speaking
I pour a glass of wine
As to confuse myself
Into blissful thought
I drink and sip by sip
I drift off
Unto the plains of ignorance
Where velvet grass grows
And thorns are made of marshmallows
The pain I once felt subsides
As I fall deeper and deeper down this abyss
Not smelling the gutter I now find myself in
I pour again, consuming shot after shot
Until the state I find myself in becomes my reality
Why do you cry ?
When it's my life
My pain
My sorrows
My burdens
My turmoil
My love
My cross to bare
When I've walked into this
My eyes wide open
Yet blind to the world it saw
Not having asked to be
Or to fall
Of any kind
But yet did
Oh how my heart bleeds when it flutters
How love kills me
When cupid's arrow strikes
A fool I was made
For birth rendered this world someone else
Shattered
Bits and pieces
Scattered
Cold
Scared
Confused
Lost ...
