"A new world rising" by Paul Hartley

A new world rising
And we all must do our part
It’s not about friends or foes
Or matters of the heart

It’s all about the world we have
And how it’s going to end
We have to stop the rot right now
Not talk and just pretend

A new world rising
We have to make a plan
With threats from North Korea
And from the depths of dark Iran

The populations growing
Too much, too fast, too soon
And now they talk of people
Moving to the moon

A new world rising
The strong do not respond
They only interfere in things
If it’s something that they need

The world we have
Cannot sustain the population now
So in a few score years ahead
What life would our children have

A new world rising
In the continent of life
Where man evolved and life began
It’s the rainbows turn to rise

We must put away our fears and dread
And move to better things
Learn to live together now
And become the African spring

A new world rising
From the ashes of despair
Stand up and act, don’t lag behind
Be a phoenix, show you care
