From a land foreign
In a land foreign
A foreigner forges a new life
Against the grain he pursues a dream
Surviving on less then bare minimum
His currency grows
Expanding to cover the needs of his blood
The depth of his pocket now shows
His beloved dependent on his prosper
Prays to the god they know
To keep him save and blessed
In a world they do not know
His family can now finally afford
Nutrition fit for a human being
Medical help and tend to their needs
He slaves with a good heart
Through toil and turmoil
He tells of a land
Where there's no war
A land of milk and honey
A land his family can't even begin to fathom
They weep, for to them he is in heaven
The reality they know
Deems hell a tranquil place
They long to see and live in this place
Of which he preaches
Enduring much hardships
Some nights crying himself to sleep
He's finally close
But a step away from shipping them to heaven
His family, his loved ones, his life
Then tragedy strikes
He's killed in a xenophobic rampage
His family left to the mercy of their land
In a land foreign
Where no foreigner can forge a life
Still yearning for the land that took their beloved
For the gospel he preached
Spoke of a land of peace
A land of milk and honey
And not of a people
Like the kind that took his life
In a land foreign
Where a man from a foreign land
Died
A foreigner
