I wonder if your readers might help in finding any reference to the almost forgotten artist Wilhelm Helmstedt who showed his works over 7 years at Whippman's Gallery, Johannesburg, until 1976?
A memorial site has been put up on http://www.art-archives-southafrica.ch/HELMSTEDT.htm with various bits of information, but images of his works, invitation cards, reviews in both English and Afrikaans aso would be appreciated. The two early reference works on the website will only be on view briefly.
