Karen Jayes

 Karen Jayes won the 2013 Sunday Times Literary Award for Fiction for her novel For the Mercy of Water. She is a member of PEN International and a spokesperson for CAGE, an independent advocacy organisation that supports those affected by rendition, torture and detention without trial as part of the War on Terror.
