Joseph Gaylard

Joseph Gaylard is a researcher and arts manager with a background in training, curating and policy research, and with a particular interest in the rethinking of institutional and cultural/organisational forms and approaches. He was a member of the Joubert Park Project collective operating in the inner city of Johannesburg before becoming the Director of the Visual Arts Network of South Africa (VANSA), an independent informational network and development agency supporting contemporary art practice in South Africa. He is presently the Head of the Johannesburg office of Pro Helvetia, covering the Southern African region. He has a BA Fine Art and BA History of Art Honours degree from the University of Cape Town.
