Ian Landsberg is a seasoned photojournalist, filmmaker, picture editor, documentalist, veteran of news, reportage, event and sports photo- and videography, and currently a digital content producer for Independent Media. He frequently participates in photojournalism talks and lectures, as well as curating photo exhibitions and adjudicating competitions, including international photo competitions such as the Andrei Stenin International Photo Contest. He is an ardent filmmaker, boasting a YouTube channel with 2,98k subscribers and 646 videos. He recently directed a series of documentaries about Mega Chinese construction companies in Africa in Mauritius, Mozambique and Lesotho for People’s Daily Online SA. Ian is a strong believer in the authenticity and power of the visual medium as a tool for information dissemination. He majored in Afrikaans en Nederlands at UWC and was a student of Jakes Gerwel, Ria Olivier and Frank Hendricks.
