FM Lucky Mathebula

Fortunate Mashebu Lucky Mathebula was born in Pretoria. He received his Secondary Teachers Diploma at the Transvaal College of Education, his Bachelor’s and honours degrees in Public Administration (Cum Laude) at Vista University, and his Masters and doctoral degrees in Public Administration at the University of Pretoria. He holds a Harvard Business School Senior Executive Programme Certificate and a Fribourg University Diploma in Intergovernmental Relations.

He steered the establishment of the South African Association of Public Administration and Management, a professional association charged with the professionalisation of the public service. He is the founder editor of the current Journal of Public Administration and the Journal of Local Government Management. He serves in various study groups of policy think-tanks.

He is also a founder executive fellow of the Intergovernmental Relations Institute of South Africa (IGISA) based at the Central University of the Free State.

He is the executive chairperson of the Business School of Entrepreneurship (Pty) Ltd and a consultant on Public Administration and Management with a particular focus on intergovernmental relations, group facilitation, strategic consulting, and stakeholder relations management.

He is a Christian, married to Khunjulwa, and they are blessed with a son, Mathebula, and two daughters, Mekateko and Amukelani.
