Dr Faith Nyamakwere recently graduated from Stellenbosch University (PhD in animal science), where her research focused on developing an artisanal cheesemaking model for small-scale dairy farmers in South Africa. She has a certificate in cheesemaking, which was completed in collaboration with Stellenbosch University’s Department of Food Science. Part of her PhD work has been presented at international conferences in the United States of America. In addition, her work has gained much media publicity, resulting in a series of radio, online and social media interviews. She did her bachelor and master’s degrees at the University of Fort Hare, where she also worked as a peer facilitator (tutor).
