Deon Pretorius

Deon Pretorius is a sociologist and specialises in the sociology of development. He holds a PhD from the University of Warwick (UK) and was mentored by the British sociologist Margaret Archer. After 20 years full-time in academia, he has been in private practice since 2007 as a development practitioner and owner of Development Partners. He is attached to the Department of Development Studies at the Nelson Mandela University as a part-time lecturer and to the Jönköping University in Sweden as an affiliated researcher.
