Carole Blake founded her agency in 1977 after 14 years of working for publishing houses, finally as marketing director of a mass market paperback publisher. She is past president of the Association of Authors' Agents and The Book Trade Charity: BTBS; past chairman of the Society of Bookmen; member of advisory boards for postgraduate publishing studies courses at City University and UCLA; associate vice-president of the Romantic Novelists’ Association; and patron of the Chipping Norton Literary Festival.
