Born in a small township on the West Rand known as Munsieville I am the 13th child in a family of 15 children. I attended primary school in Munsieville and went to Central Secondary School in Pretoria to complete my matriculation in 1984. I proceeded to North-West University, where I obtained a BA Ed degree in 1988, majoring in languages: Afrikaans and Setswana, and English as an ancillary course. I proceeded to do a BEd postgraduate degree at Vista University in Soweto. My masters degree in educational management was obtained at Rand Afrikaans University (RAU; now UJ) in 1996, where I also did one year of a DEd, but had to suspend the studies due to ill-health.
I am a deputy principal at a high school in Kagiso and also teach English First Additional Language to grade 10 learners. I have been in the teaching fraternity for 24 years and always enjoy interpretation of literary work with learners. I am currently looking for a publisher for my novel A tear in a thread.
