Auwais Rafudeen

Auwais Rafudeen is Senior Lecturer in the Department of Religious Studies and Arabic, Unisa. He took his doctorate in Religious Studies at the University of Cape Town and subsequently worked at an Islamic college in Cape Town for number of years. His interests include translating traditional Arabic texts, exploring the relationship between Islam and modernity, and studying the manifestations of Islam in South Africa.
