How do you feel about the fact that DJ Cleo recorded your song?
I am super-excited about it, seeing that he is one of South Africa's leading DJ’s and premier beatmakers. I am really honoured that he chose my poem out of all the others.
Why do you think your entry stood out?
Wow I really didn't think I stood a chance. Maybe it was something he could associate with – who knows.
What is the song about?
It is about that one person you really loved and felt deeply for who slipped through your fingers and no matter how hard you try it’s very difficult to forget them.
Where and how did you write the song?
It was put together from a few poems I wrote.
What should DJ Cleo keep in mind when recording this song?
I’ll leave it up to DJ Cleo – he knows what works and what it takes to make a song amazing.
