Sumayya Mohamed was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. She is a writer, artist and researcher documenting and telling stories of the city and the people who live within them. She is always looking for and experimenting with different ways to tell a story about people and places which was demonstrated by a large scale public mural at the Fietas Museum in Johannesburg. When not reading, writing or taking photographs she is traveling around the world, finding inspiration and learning more about people, cultures and herself.
