I am Siyabonga "Sylvester" Ngqongqwana and was born in Dimbaza, a rural and industrial town outside King William's Town, in the friendly province of the Eastern Cape. I was born on 14th February 1987, and I'm 18 years old.
I am a second-year undergraduate student currently studying towards a Bachelor's degree in Accountancy (BAcc) at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (Westville campus).
Last year I performed an isiXhosa poem for the Vice-Chancellor of the university on a Cultural Day held at the Sports Complex of the university and also appeared in the Durban International Convention Centre (ICC) where I delivered a poem for King Goodwill Zwelithini-Zulu in a conference about African Renaissance held by the Department of Arts and Culture.
I am currently writing a collection of Xhosa poems, entitled Amatyathanga (A series of Chains) and hoping that one day my work will be published.
