Shirly

Shirly Hyland is a lecturer in the Department of Mercantile Law, Centre for Financial Planning Law. Her main areas of expertise are Tax, Estate Planning, Retirement Planning and Trust Law. Shirly has been involved with the Department for the past five years, of which the last three years have been spent at the Centre for Financial Planning Law. She is currently a member of the Education Committee of the Financial Planning Institute of Southern Africa and is also the vice-chairperson of the Regional Committee. She completed her LLB in 2004, her LLM (cum Laude) and Law School in 2005. She then proceeded to complete the Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning in 2007 as well as attaining her CFP status. Shirly completed the National Certificate in Investment Specialisation in 2009.
