Chris Mokolatsie joined the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2005 as the Director for the University’s HIV/AIDS programme. Before joining the University he worked for the Department of Health in KZN as Acting Director: Media relations between 2001 and 2005.

Chris worked for many years as a journalist in KZN. He was a senior reporter with the Sunday Tribune in Durban and was also news editor and editor for Echo, a popular community weekly in Pietermaritzburg published by The Witness Group.

Chris holds a Certificate in Public Health from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He also has a Masters degree from that University, where he studied theology, politics and philosophy.

Chris originally comes from Lesotho, is married to Pontso Moorosi-Mokolatsie and lives in Pietermaritzburg.
