Jennifer Thorpe

Jen Thorpe is a feminist writer and researcher who has worked at the Rape Crisis Cape Town Trust since February 2010. In 2010 she began the My First Time women's writing project which encouraged women to submit stories of their significant first time experiences. This project has over 200 stories from over 100 women and will be published as a book in 2012. In 2011 she started Feminists SA – a website aimed at bringing feminist analyses back into the fore of women's thinking. She created and designed the website herself, and is also a contributor. She also contributes to Thoughtleader.co.za (the M&G-blog). She graduated with distincition with a Masters in Politics from Rhodes University and completed her thesis on the scripts of femininity that influence women's behaviour. She's proudly South African, is in a wonderful relationship and above all believes feminism will save us all.
