Interviews and reviews of the shortlisted books for the 2012 Alan Paton Award and the Sunday Times Fiction Prize

The prestigious Sunday Times Literary Awards shortlist was announced on the 12th of May in Franschhoek. Six books made the shortlist for the 23rd Alan Paton Award for non-fiction, and five made the cut for the Sunday Times Fiction Prize for creative writing, which is now in its 12th year.

The shortlisted books for the Alan Paton Award for non-fiction are:
